United States President Donald Trump signed a proclamation on Sunday that changes the name of Mexico’s Gulf to “Gulf of America.” The measure determines the change in nomenclature in all government maps, but other countries are not required to follow determination.
The document was signed aboard the Air Force One, the US presidency plane, while the aircraft flying over the Gulf, on their way to New Orleans for the Super Bowl. The intention to change the name had already been announced by the Republican even before the inauguration last month.
