Boconist Jorge Guaranho, 40, the Municipal Guard and Petista militant Marcelo Arruda, begins to be tried on Tuesday (11), in a jury that will define the outcome of the most emblematic episode of political violence in the 2022 election.
Parties involved in the process estimate that the trial in Curitiba should extend for two or even three days.
The crime occurred in July 2022, in, in the west of. Guaranho is accused by the State Prosecutor of Double -qualified homicide, for futile reasons and common danger.

In the complaint offered by the Public Prosecution Service in 2022, prosecutors narrate that Guaranho entered the scene shouting “Petista will die” before detonating the shots at the victim.

According to the investigation, Guaranho shouted “Lula thief” and “pt trash”, as well as “Bolsonaro Mito” and “Here is Bolsonaro”.
Political antagonism is included in the prosecution’s complaint as the futile reason, named as an aggravating murder. The prosecution assistants highlight the same point.
“The jury has great relevance to the whole of Brazilian society and must be a milestone for the country. No one can be the target of violence due to creed, origin or political position. This must end,” said lawyer Daniel Godoy Júnior, one of accusation assistants.
The Guaranho Defense strategy is to rule out the policy from the case.
“The motivation was not political and this will be very clear at the end of the trial. We hope to clarify to the sentence board all the nuances of the process, we have all the dynamics of the facts in audio and video,” said lawyer Samir Mattar Assad, responsible for.
The jury will be led by Judge Mychelle Pacheco Cintra Stadler of the 1st Private Court of the Curitiba Jury Court.
