A West Long Branch police officer in New Jersey was widely praised for his rapid and heroic actions after saving an 11 -year -old who had fallen into a frozen lake.
The West Long Police Department Branch shared a Facebook post, explaining that it received a call to inform that a child had fallen on the ice from Lake Franklin. Agent Dave Brosonski, highly trained in water rescue, arrived quickly and found the boy in the middle of the lake.
Without hesitation, Brosonski entered the cold water and managed to save the child. The police department expressed his thanks for the rapid actions of the agent and for the collaboration of the community that warned the authorities.
The ransom was captured by a bodycam, and the images show the distressing moment when the boy, who was panicked, shouted that he didn’t feel his feet or his arms. Brosonski, to reassure the child, told him that everything would be fine.
“When we are in cold water, we have minutes before hypothermia settles,” said the agent. After being pulled to a safe place, the boy was examined by rescuers and taken to a local hospital.
