Black tea is one of the most common choices, thanks to the caffeine content it can stimulate and replace coffee. JEdnak, to make it tasty and refreshed, it must be properly brewed. When pouring the leaves, remember a few steps.
A lot depends on how we like tea and whether we want it to stimulate us. When brewing black tea leaves, we should remember that only for the first minutes caffeine is released, which can stimulate the body. At a later stage, tannin is released, i.e. an ingredient that neutralizes caffeine, and thus tea ceases to be stimulating. What’s more, it can also gain a bitter taste. How to brew tea? Remember this:
- up to 3 minutes if you want a stimulating tea in the morning
- 3 – 5 minutes if you want to deprive it of caffeine
- over 5 minutes if you like bitter, strong flavors
The more stimulating tea you want, brew it shorter, and the more intense and slightly bitter in taste it is longer.

In the case of flavored teas, this number may be slightly larger, but in particular with Czarna, we should not overdo the number of cups. It is assumed that a maximum of 600 mg of caffeine can be taken, it translates into about 5 larger cups of black tea (in 100 ml of the drink you will find just over 30 mg of caffeine). At the same time, if this caffeine has been brewing longer, therefore it is an approximate number.
In addition, remember to brew tea at the right temperature. Too high can make us deprive her of taste. This will be the most visible in the case of delicate teas, including white or fruit. Strong teas (herb and black) should be brewed at 90 – 100 degrees C. Fruit, white and generally more delicate in taste at a temperature of 60 – 80 degrees C to keep their aroma.
