In two days, Bear Castors build a dam that the Chéquia government was planning for 7 years

The government project, which had been awaiting authorization since 2018, was evaluated at 1.2 million euros.

The Chéquia government was waiting for authorization for 7 years to start building a dam in the BRDY Natural Park. The work, valued at 1.2 million euros, was completed with access in just 48 hours.

Thanks to who? To a beaver family. The case is already being a joke on social networks.

The government project aimed to recover the aquatic areas of BRDY Natural Park and return moisture to the region.

According to the environmentalists who monitor the area said rodents built “functional dams in the right areas, thus saving work to humans.”

Bohumil Fišer, head of BRDY’s protected landscape administration, says nature has followed its course and the bearings have created the conditions of necessary overnight.

“The Military Forest Management and Vltavia River Basin were negotiating with each other to set up the project and resolve other issues. The bearings beat us by saving millions of euros. They built the dams without any project documentation and for free.”

After inspecting the work, the environmentalists concluded that the swamps and pools created by the beavers offer “a suitable habitat for lobsters, frogs and other wild animals.”
