The United Nations today called on and guaranteeing a human treatment of all prisoners, stressing that the recent photos of “burnish” former Israeli hostages and former Palestinian prisoners are “deeply worrying”.
“The images of bone Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners, released in the context of the first phase of the Gaza Truce Agreement, are deeply alarming,” said UNHCR spokesman for Human Rights in Geneva, Tamin Al. communication.
“We are also deeply concerned about the parade publicly released by Hamas to Gaza, including statements that were apparently forced during liberation,” he added.
Tamin al-Itan also condemned the fact that “the Palestinians released from Israeli prisons revealed such abuses, which reflects the bad conditions under which they were held.”
“The way they were released also raises serious concerns,” he added. “Israel and Hamas must guarantee human treatment, including the absence of any form of torture or abuse, to all people who are held under their power.”
According to the terms of the truce agreement between Hamas and Israel, the first phase of which came into force on January 19, 33 Israeli hostages had to be released in exchange for about 1,900 prisoners, mainly Palestinians, held in Israeli prisons.

“We reiterate that hostage rapture is a war crime,” he said. “Hamas must immediately and unconditionally release all hostages and Israel must immediately and unconditionally release all people who are arbitrarily kept.”
