Meeting statement states that priority of countries is “to ensure that AI is open, inclusive, transparent, ethics, secure, protected and reliable” ”
The United States and the United Kingdom have not signed the Paris AI dome statement entitled “Declaration on Inclusive and Sustainable Artificial Intelligence.”
The statement states that, among priorities, they are “ensuring that AI is open, inclusive, transparent, ethical, safe, protected and reliable, taking into account international structures for all” and “make the AI sustainable to people and planet”.
The US did not immediately explain why they were not signatories.
A spokesman for British Prime Minister Keir Strmer said on Tuesday that the discussions were underway and that the United Kingdom was joining other initiatives and would continue to work with their partners, including France.
They added, “We will only adhere to initiatives that are of the national interest of the United Kingdom.”
