Incorrect temperature or incorrect detergent can cause fine fabrics to quickly lose their properties. We recommend how to wash your underwear to protect its appearance and fabric.

The basic rule when washing underwear is to follow the manufacturer’s recommendations that you can find on the label. Although it is traditionally recommended by hand washing, many current models, especially from Slovak manufacturers, can be washed in the washing machine thanks to the friendliness and durability of materials without fear.

If you want to take special care, such as lace or silk laundry, the best choice is hand washing. This requires lukewarm water with a temperature of approximately 30 ° C and a gentle detergent. Immerse the laundry in the water, gently wipe the fabric layers and avoid strong squeezing to avoid damaging the fibers. After thoroughly rinsing, dry the excess linen on the towel, spreading the fabric into a plane. Such drying is especially best for bras that retain an intact structure.

If you still opt for mechanical washing, proper preparation is the key. The linen should be sorted by color: on white, black and colored to prevent color change. In the case of visible spots, it is recommended to use the stain remover according to the manufacturer’s instructions. The washing machine should be set to a soft fabric program – many modern models offer this feature.

It depends on the detergents

The detergent is more gentle than the powder. It is also important to choose low spinning speeds that minimize the risk of damage to the fabric. Special underwear pockets are also recommended. These practical accessories protect lace, embroidery and other decorations from damage.

For fine fabrics such as lace or silk, the safest temperature is 30 ° C. However, most cotton laundry can be washed even at 40 ° C and sometimes even at 60 ° C, if the manufacturer allows. High temperatures work best for white models that are more susceptible to stains or yellowing. In this case, it is recommended to use the detergents for white laundry that contain whitening components.

How to protect white linen from losing color?

It is important to keep it separate from the color pieces of clothing. Higher temperatures are permissible, up to 60 ° C to help remove dirt and bacteria. However, it is advisable to remember to wash it only with other white textiles.

Although most underwear tolerate well at 30 degrees C or 40 degrees C, each model requires an individual approach. Do not forget the special lace or embroidery needs and always follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Proper care will successfully extend the life of your underwear and keep it beautiful longer.
