A Russian missile attack in Kiev left at least one dead, three injured-among them, a nine-year-old child-and caused several fires across the city on Wednesday morning (12).
The information was confirmed by Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko, through the Telegram Message Application.
Emergency services were called to at least four districts of the Ukrainian capital.
Military administration said fires occurred in several residential and non -residential buildings.
Air strike alerts were triggered only at the beginning of the explosions, around 11:27 am (Brasília time).
It was not immediately clear which missiles were used, but the late release of the alerts suggests that they were difficult to detect by radar.
Witnesses reported hearing a series of explosions in what sounded like air defense systems in operation.
“Russia has performed a missile attack in Kiev and the Kiev region,” said Andriy Yermak, the president’s chief of staff, in a publication in the Telegram messaging app.

The prospects for renewed peace negotiations to end the war that began almost three years ago increased after the, said he was in contact with Kiev and Putin.
Zelenskiy also said on Tuesday that Kiev will soon keep talks with US authorities.
