By reducing the tax bonus and the impact of consolidation measures, the family will lose hundreds of euros a month. The state should therefore start saving more on itself and not at the expense of families with children. On Wednesday they stated this at a press conference of opposition MEPs from the Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) with one of the coalition partners Andrej Danko recently admitted that the government coalition has broken it with consolidation, as it damaged the families in Slovakia.
“Consolidation packages that were issued, as well as the cancellation of tax bonuses have also caused many families to lose hundreds of euros on their payroll straps. Hundreds of euros that could invest in their families will miss them to be brave and have other children. Helicopter money is distributed to everyone instead of address help, ” said the chairman of the movement Milan Majerský. He also specified that while he received in October last year An ordinary employee who does not have college works and has two children on the paycheck of 940 euros, so now it is only 798 euros.
Opposition MP from KDH Andrea Turčanová added that reducing tax bonus to children is unfair for some groups of families. Since the new year, the amount of this contribution for parents under 15 years of age from 140 to 100 euros has changed. This tax bonus has completely disappeared in children over 18 years of age. Parents’ representatives agreed that they will miss the money from the tax bonus this year for various sports activities for children, circles or concentrations.
Another negative measure for families is also a higher 23 % value added tax (VAT), which will also affect children with disabilities, whether when purchasing special foods or accessing aids, rehabilitation or therapies for which they will not have money.
In the case of parents with three or more children, according to opposition MPs from KDH, they will lose an average of EUR 740. They stressed that the government should take responsibility and save on itself, and last year it could have been saved in the state budget of EUR 200 million and 600 to 800 million euros this year, which could also maintain a tax bonus for families with children.
“It is essential that the government stop ignoring reality. Families with children are the pillar of our company and their support is crucial for the future of our country. That is why we are all together today we call on this government to review its decisions, make addressing aid and begin to behave economically and especially in solidarity to those who create real values in this country, ” closed Turčanová.
