The entity dedicated to the defense of freedom of expression and media education, turns 15 in 2025.
The entity was founded in August 2010 by, A, the Brazilian Association of Radio and Television Broadcasters (Abert) and the Brazilian Association of Advertising Agencies (Abap).
Since then, it has promoted debates on freedom of expression and electoral system, dangers of misinformation and organized an exhibition about the 1988 Federal Constitution, bringing together journalists, researchers, parliamentarians and judges. It also started a media education arm, the education, aimed at students and elementary school teachers, which has the support of.
The institute has 25 counselors. Among them, journalists Roberto Muylaert E, the university professor and the Folha Group superintendent, Judith Brito. The entity’s executive president is Patrícia Blanco, who is part of the Folha Editorial Board.
