A man, who made a high-rank call, was caught by surprise when approached by a traineal security security. He received a fine of 200 euros, but intends to resort to court.
A passenger, identified only as David, was fined 200 euros for making a high-rank call at a French train station.
David, who claims to have used the cell phone in high-rank to check if he could catch the train he needed, was caught by surprise when approached by a SNCF railway security.
“He told me that if he didn’t turn off the high-rank, he would be fined 150 euros,” says the man, who thought it was a joke. However, “the employee was offended, took a block and fined me,” says David.
The fine was still more expensive than expected. David saw the fine rise to 200 euros, for not having paid it on the spot. The man guarantees that he hired a lawyer to bring the episode to court.
The SNCF, in turn, claims that the man was using his mobile phone in an area that should be silent. In addition, the company states that the security guards warned “several times” to turn off the high-rank.
