The evidence that the police collected in the fire of the building devoured by the flames in the neighborhood of Campanar de Valencia, in which ten people died, have disappeared. This has been communicated by the Provincial Brigade of the Judicial Police to, which details the destroyed pieces “having been severely affected by the Dana”. The so-called “pieces of conviction” were in a ship, owned by the Generalitat Valenciana, located in the municipality of Riba-Roja. In addition to the evidence of the Fluvan Fire, the water affected another 30,000 pieces of the Judicial Party of Valencia and the Provincial Court of Valencia. At the moment the scope of the consequences of the affected cases that, according to lawyers consulted, may affect the determination of responsibilities or even the validity of the matters themselves are unknown.
Among the objects that have disappeared was the refrigerator engine that, according to the report of the Scientific Police, was in the 86 of the highest tower of the residential complex and that was the origin of the flames. There were also the metal fragments of the panels that, “formed by a metal outer layer, an intermediate layer of a solid black substance and a metallic internal layer,” according to the letter sent by the police to the court. Those elements are those that, in the opinion of some experts, ended up destroying 138 residences. Among the evidence that cannot be used judicially, in a case that is still under investigation, there was also a fragment “of the material located between the wall of the building and the exterior panels.” That material is the one that was installed to implement a ventilated facade, in which a space is left between the coating and the structure of the building, cavity that, in the case of the building devoured by the flames in Campanar, caused a chimney effect and facilitated The ascent and propagation of fire.
That material was in the Generalitat ship, and saved as part of the proceedings, in a glass jar. In another, the Police retained “remains of the solid black substance subjected to the effect of heat of the fire encountered in one of the metal sheets detached from the facade of the building”, as the police detail.
The lawyer Manolo Mata, who exercises the accusation on behalf of several victims, highlights the problems that can lead to the disappearance of two of the elements. In the case of the Generalitat, the pieces of pieces recorded an accumulation of water, approximately one meter and the demolition of one of the perimeter walls.
