Alice Weidelová, co -chairman of the German Nationalist Party for Germany (AfD), after a meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, called on a joint effort to reform the European Union. Referring to the Magyarhang server, TASR reports in Budapest.
At a joint press conference with Orbán, Weidel expressed her gratitude for “a policy of common sense and for fighting for the freedom of nations”. She added that the policy of the Hungarian government headed by Orbán is a great example to follow.
On the question of migration, she said that her party aims to close the EU’s internal borders in order to stop migration. “If we get to power, we will step out of the European Asylum Law system,” the AfD co -chairman added.
Orbán pointed out that he was looking forward to the period when the German economy will be successful again and Hungary would be able to benefit from its success. According to Orban, all important AfD program points are beneficial for Hungary and it would be good if they were able to implement them from migration to energy policy.
According to the Hungarian Prime Minister, it is necessary to abolish energy sanctions, open energy supplies and return the eliminated energy sources back to the European economy. “The negative effects of erroneous European economic policy will actually manifest itself only now,” underlined Orbán, who also criticized migration policy and attitude towards Ukraine. As he noted, there is also a problem of democracy in the EU.
In recent years, Weidel and the AfD have gained an increasing political influence in Germany. The party’s program places a high priority to limit illegal immigration, which is in line with the consistent policy of the protection of Hungary, the server Magyarnemzet.hu said.
AfD critics call her right -wing populist and, in their election manifesto, also claims to “restore undisturbed trade with Russia”.
In pre-election surveys, the party is second with 19 to 20 percent behind the CDU/CSU conservative block with 31 % support. The third place is the Social Democrats of the outgoing German office Olaf Scholz with 15 percent and the fourth greenery with 14 % support. Early parliamentary elections will take place in Germany on 24 February.
