Yoghurt pastry has one big advantage – it is beautifully supple and lasts soft for a long time. If you add the scent of vanilla and the crispness of freshly baked dough, a dessert that disappears from the table at lightning speed. Yoghurt snails are not complicated to prepare and can be handled by those who do not have much experience with yeast dough.

You will need one egg, 150 ml of white yogurt or kefir, two tablespoons of sugar and 70 ml of vegetable oil to prepare the dough. You can add vanilla taste with vanilla sugar or vanilla extract according to your taste. Do not forget a pinch of salt that highlights all the tastes. For the correct consistency of the dough, add one teaspoon of baking powder and approximately 300 to 320 g of flour, which you gradually work until the dough is smooth and pliable. Finished snails are finally wrapped in crystal sugar, or you can mix vanilla sugar with ground cinnamon for an even more pronounced taste.

You can make the dough as classic yeast – mix the yeast in a little lukewarm milk with sugar, let the sourdough rise and then mix with other ingredients. Make a smooth dough and let it rise.

Twenty minutes of baking until golden brown

After rising, roll the dough into a rectangle, rub with melted butter and sprinkle with vanilla sugar. Then just roll, cut into snails and let it rise for a while. They bake until golden brown, about 20 minutes at 180 ° C.

Melted butter with vanilla gets you

Freshly baked snails are just great, but if you want, you can feel them again and rub with melted butter with a little vanilla. Result? Perfect combination of supple center and crunchy edges. The yoghurt gives the snails softness, beautifully highlights vanilla taste and is also very beneficial for our body. In short, the ideal choice for coffee or just for snacking.
