Former criminal police officer Jorge Guaranho, accused of killing petista militant Marcelo Arruda in 2022, gave testimony to the jury court on Wednesday night (12), but refused to answer questions from the prosecutor.
He says he acted for self -defense.
Upon being questioned by his defense lawyers, he admitted that he arrived by car at Marcelo’s party with music from the then president’s campaign. He said the song was low because his son was in the vehicle and today he realizes it was a “idiocy for sure.”
Upon arriving at the party, he admits that he shouted “Bolsonaro Mito” and heard Marcelo reply ” [para Bolsonaro]”.” It was a silly discussion, “Guaranho said, adding that Marcelo threw land in the car window, which would have hit his face.
Guaranho said he returned home following the discussion and only there would have noticed that his son was also hit with the earth, which made him “very angry”.
The defendant then said he returned to the party to “seek explanation with the guy who assaulted my son.”
“I was very angry,” said the accused, whose son today is two years and eight months.
The crime occurred in July 2022, in, in the west of. Guaranho is accused by the State Prosecutor of Double -qualified homicide, for futile reasons and common danger.
The crime happened when Arruda celebrated her 50th birthday with family and friends at a party with symbols and images of the PT and then candidate for president. Arruda was treasurer of the PT Municipal Directory.
Guaranho broke into the party and shot the petista, who fell injured and reacted, firing at his aggressor. But Arruda could not resist the injuries.
The former police officer was admitted to a hospital and then had the pre-trial detention decreed. Last September, he obtained a court decision that allowed him to migrate to.
