On the first attempts at Quilling you will use cut roles
Caps aren’t anything for you? Toilet paper rolls can also be useful for making much more serious and very creative achievements. Cut regular rings from the roll, shape them and glue them from the center to create a mandala, a flower wreath, a star or something else.
The technique called quilling does not work in the first place with cut rolls, but only strips of colored paper. But there is no need to invest immediately in buying new material when you have some free and at hand.
To make your creation more interesting, you can paint each wheels or rings, or try to work first with ordinary monochrome paper. If you like the idea and the result will be to the world, you can apply the color at the end with a spray. It’s an easy and elegant solution. In addition, you can also use all sorts of interesting colors including metallic.
Quilling technique is very simple but spectacular. Usually, it is used by strips of paper cut to 3 to 10 mm, which can be multicolored, but it is not a condition. To make the strips easier to turn, it is used to scroll a special pen with a groove at the end, but will help you with an ordinary skewers or the end of the brush on which you can wrap the paper.
In order to keep the shapes of paper strips together, it is used to glue an ordinary white adhesive of the Hercules type. In order to keep the shapes nicely together and do not separate, a cork pad is used to work on which the shapes can also be pinned to hold while the adhesive dries. In your case, however, a little patience and imagination is enough to know what you want to create and slowly fold the individual pieces together.
Do not unnecessarily complicate the work and start just with squeezed rings from the cut role, which will form the shape of the eye, or if you want in Quilling’s language, it is a “Marquise” shape. Or play a little with spirals like in hearts in the title picture.
The animals of the rolls
It is quite possible that Quilling will also like children, but you can play with something else. Show them a picture with a fox and see how many animals will want to go to their home zoo or rescue station. From the rolls it is quite easy to cut nice foxes, sheep and many other animals.
Production is very easy and the result will be a paper animal that the child can paint and decorate according to imagination. In addition, this model will remain on four legs, and when playing breaks up, it does not matter! Simply and in a moment, you can make new animals for children.
