Two of the five men condemned by, killed with six shots in a rural settlement area, are suspected of the commission of other crimes in the Amazon region.
The suspicion that the two men would have committed the crime of receiving, in two distinct episodes, is based on the performance of criminal groups in the year 2023, 18 years after Dorothy’s death.
The murder of the missionary turns 20 on Wednesday (12). Five people were for the crime: Clodoaldo Carlos Batista and Rayfran das Neves Sales, considered the executors; Vitalmiro de Bastos de Moura and Regivaldo Pereira Galvão, farmers convicted of having been the principals; and Amair Feijoli da Cunha, appointed as intermediary between gunmen and farmers and interested in the death of Dorothy.
The missionary was an agent of the CPT (Pastoral Commission of the Earth) and was active in defense of settlers and landless in one of the most violent regions of Pará, where the dispute for land involves the performance of interested in the expansion of domain of areas by settlements created in the Course of the Transamazon Highway.
The penalties applied to the convicts of the crime ranged from 17 to 30 years in prison. Most have been able to progression, and may serve the penalty outside the closed regime – in home or open regime, for example.
There is no information on the permanence of any of them in prison. The available data on criminal execution show that for 4 of the 5 convicts, there has been no extinction of the penalties.
The suspicions of the crime of receipt and participation in other criminal activities were pointed out by the Civil Police of Pará, in the case of Regivaldo Galvão, and PF () and MPF (Federal Prosecutor) acting in Acre and Amazonas, in the case of Amair Feijoli.
The Vitória do Xingu Police Station (PA) investigated an alleged heavy machinery theft scheme. In March 2023, according to police report, a backhoe was found in a vehicle rental company in 50 km from Vitória do Xingu.
The company, according to the police, is owned by Regivaldo. A complaint complaint of the excavator had been registered in Bahia.
Police said the alleged scheme involved a “plurality of crimes” with agricultural machinery, facade companies and oranges. Police officers asked the court for authorization to search and seizure at addresses of three investigated, including Regivaldo, in Vitória do Xingu and Altamira.

Another case involving a suspicion of receipt crime involves two pickup trucks, cloned and consisting of broken pieces and used as, according to the PF and the MPF. One of them was seized in possession of Amair Feijoli.
The man convicted of bridge between farmers and gunmen in the Dorothy Stang case acted in an alleged land grabbing and deforestation scheme, according to a PF investigation in 2023. The crimes investigated were committed in southern Amazonas and Acre .
The report did not find Feijoli or its defense.
According to research documents, a criminal organization has invaded and deforested preserved areas of the purpose of grabbing. Police ordered the group’s assets block in the amount of R $ 16 million.
Feijoli was arrested preventively by the PF, in operation triggered in August 2023.
