The Minister of Ports and Airports, Sílvio Costa Filho, will announce on Friday (14) in, during a visit by President Lula, the anticipation of the expansion of the city’s airport, to help in the logistics of arrival of visitors and authorities.
The work, which would be delivered next year, is now scheduled for August, with an investment of $ 500 million.
About 150 heads of state and 50,000 people are expected to participate in the event, scheduled for November. The flow is almost four times larger than the current movement of the airport.
Another measure to be announced is the definition of cities that will be used as “parking” of the aircraft of the coming international delegations.
Larger aircraft will be in cities such as Manaus and Brasilia, while minors will remain in closer places such as Santarém, Marabá, Macapá and São Luiz.
Infrastructure issues are the largest especially in areas such as transportation and accommodation.
