German Chancellor Olaf Scholz rejected any “dictated peace” in Ukraine on Thursday. Forcing Kiev to accept an agreement to terminate the armed conflict will not lead to a permanent peace. Tom writes on the basis of AFP report.

“The Russian victory and the Ukrainian fall will not lead to peace, on the contrary … It would endanger peace and stability in Europe, far beyond Ukraine,” Scholz said. He added that the conflict in Ukraine must “end as quickly as possible”.

The German office supports Trump in interviews with Putin. According to him, their aim should be, above all, to give the Russian leader clear “our expectations of fair peace in Ukraine and from returning to the European Security Code, in which the borders cannot change by force”.

He stressed that no decisions about Ukraine can be taken without the presence of the people directly concerned. Any peace agreement according to Scholz “must be sustainable and must ensure the sovereignty of Ukraine”.
