Sheikh President Mohammed bin Zagen al -Nahian told the US Secretary of State today that peacekeeping efforts in the region should be made on the basis of the two states solution for the Israeli -Palestinian conflict, as reported by the State News Agency.
According to the agency, the UAE, one of the few Arab countries that confess its relations with it, categorically rejected any attempt to displace the Palestinians and deprive their “inalienable rights”.
The US president caused earlier this week when the US proposed to take control of the Gaza Strip War and develop it financially after the Palestinian relocation elsewhere.
Earlier, UAE ambassador to the US Yucev al -Otampa said US approach to Gaza is “difficult”.
“But at the end of the day, we are all in search of a solution, we just don’t know where it will sit still,” he said at the World Government Summit meeting in Dubai.
Asked if the UAE and the US can find common ground for Gaza, the ambassador said his country would try.
Otampa said that the two countries can have conversations and coordinate even if they disagree on a matter.
“We are flexible, we make our voices to be heard and we are very honest and we do not regret it, so, like any relationship, sometimes our friends hear us, sometimes not, sometimes we agree in some places, sometimes we disagree, we try, we try, we try, Always find common ground, “he said.
“Just because we don’t like something, it doesn’t mean we are not talking to each other,” he added.
