The strong storm that hit Guarulhos, in São Paulo, Brazil, on the afternoon of Monday, left several streets flooded, forcing the passengers of a bus leaving the vehicle… swimming.
Images shared on social networks show the moment of despair when people try to get out of the bus almost submerged by the water. One of the passengers even asked family members for help, referring that the firefighters were taking long.
Given the delay of the rescue team, most passengers chose to abandon the vehicle to swim. When firefighters arrived at the scene, they helped the other passengers safely leave. Fortunately, there was no record of injuries.
The storm caused numerous damage in the city, with houses and flooded shops. Now residents and traders try to account for the damage left by heavy rain.
