The gray cake is an easy and delicious apple cakesweetened with maple syrup instead of classic sugar. Thanks to this, it is healthier, and at the same time still sweet and aromatic. It will be the perfect baking for a daily dessert or an unexpected visit of guests. It blends well with a cup of hot coffee or tea. See how it is easy to prepare such a dessert.
Ingredients:
- 200 g of cake flour,
- 180 g butter 82%,
- 180 ml of maple syrup,
- 180 ml of sour cream 18%,
- 3 eggs in size L or XL,
- 2 firm, hard and juicy apples,
- 1.5 teaspoons of vanilla extract,
- 1.5 teaspoons of baking powder,
- 1.5 teaspoons of baking soda,
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
Method of performance:
1) Melt butter and cool.
2) Peel the apples, remove the seed nests, and then cut them into small cubes.
3) In a bowl, mix maple syrup, butter, eggs, cream and vanilla extract together. Whip the whole for a few minutes until you receive a smooth mix.
4) In a separate bowl, mix the flour, soda, baking powder and salt.
5) Pour dry ingredients into wet, and then mix everything at low speed for about a minute, to absorb the flour.
6) Pour chopped apples and mix gently with a spatula.
7) Pour the mass into a baking mold lined with paper measuring 20×30 cm. Align.
8) Put the sheet in a furnace set on 180 degrees Celsius and bake for about 45 minutes or to a dry stick.
9) Remove the gray dough from the mold and leave it on the grill to cool. Serve the dessert after completely cool, preferably with the addition of powdered sugar or whipped cream. Store baking at room temperature up to 2 days or in the fridge up to a week.
