The pocketist Jorge Guaranho, accused of killing the Municipal Guard and Petista militant Marcelo Arruda, enters the final stretch on Thursday (13), in. On the morning of Thursday, just before 10 am, the debates began between the prosecution and the defense, the last stage of the trial before the decision of the Judgment Council, which is made up of seven jurors, four women and three men. Their names were drawn at the opening of the work, on Tuesday (11).
The expectation of the parties involved in the process is that the sentence of Guaranho leaves in the early afternoon.
“If the jury’s result contradicts what the defense believes to be justice, not revenge, certainly the defense will act in appellate media,” anticipated one of Guaranho’s lawyers, Eloi Dore, in a press interview.
Before the trial began, in a rapid statement to the press, Guaranho stated that what happened was a fatality and denied that the crime has a political relationship.
