A blue plane had to abort an hourly takeoff after speed measurement and altitude problems on the night of last Tuesday (11/2) at Viracopos airport in Campinas, metropolitan region of São Paulo.
One of the passengers, Heitor Spirandelli, told the Metropolis that the pilot started the takeoff procedure and when it was already very fast began to brake “as if a child was crossing the track.”

Hector said that after the incident the commander maneuvered the aircraft out of the airport track and informed the entry of some paramedics, since, according to the statement, the fright of the situation made a lady get sick.
Subsequently, a team of technicians was triggered and entered the aircraft’s command cabin. After the diagnosis of the professionals, the pilot informed the passengers that it was a fault on the device that indicated the altitude and speed of the aircraft.
After about an hour, the problem was resolved and the flight went to its final destination at Santos Dumont airport in Rio de Janeiro.
“He [piloto] He was fulfilling the bureaucratic information of information to the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) about the error in the system, but the equipment had already returned to function and which had received permission to follow. He said he was going to do everything to minimize the delay. ”
The delay was inevitable, but according to Heitor’s testimony, the passengers received beer for free.
Fright and nervousness
- The witness says that in her 42 years of life she had never been through a similar situation: “I know more than 40 countries, but so in takeoff, I had never been through this perrengue.”
- Hector stated that he was terrified of the brakes, but remembered the recent speech of the flight attendant to be in emergency position, lowered and with his forehead in his knee.
- “I thought it was in principle that I had something to clash with us,” he said.
- The witness, who went to a job trip in Rio de Janeiro, still added that she thought she would die at one point: “With the recent news, I said ‘ready, my turn, I’m going to die here’” .
- The nervousness was not unique to Heitor. According to him, the feeling took over the passengers of the aircraft who, at the cries, began to scream and “ask God.”
