There is no rigid recipe to dismantle democracy. The order of factors and the dose vary. But the contemporary script combines 12 tasks. Invariably. A Technology Transfer Program of Autocratization. Here a thematic summary.
1. The autocrat and the people. Inducing confusion between electoral victory, existential identification between genuine people and elected leader erases the distinction between majorities and minorities. These, either alien themselves, or are excluded. There is no diversity: “people” on the one hand against the morally depraved on the other.
2. The autocrat and the truth. Stigmatize and make it impossible to produce information, science and critical imagination. Attack Watches classrooms, intimidates scientists, teachers, journalists. Swear malicious intentions in what they do.
3. The Autocrat and God. Explore religious power. The leader is not only the messianic incarnation of the people, but relates to the will of a God.
4. The autocrat and the time. Administer the speed. Learn the benefits of the storm (“Shock and Awe”) and the moment to slow down. Alternate avalanche and calm to mislead. Invent a past and from there take your future plan.
5. The Autocrat and the Law. Of the law imposes itself as the last interpreter. Legal language offers powerful self -learning tool. Formal and informally, flood cuts and challenges them to control their acts (“Shock and Law”). Ignore or disobey court orders. Dressing political capital of cuts and, at the right time, capture judges and jurists.
6. The Autocrat and the Word. Bagunce the semantics, take off the words of their rooted concepts. Make the ideas of freedom, democracy and rights their opposite. Empty the possibility of communication from shared concepts.
7. The Autocrat and the Force. Demonstrate to be a subject of strength and explore the display of strength. Police and sectarian militias are extension of their hands. Infallible in combating enemies, they should not satisfy the law, only to their person.
8. The autocrat and the bureaucracy. Fighting expertise and autonomy, rejects acts of government based on reason and evidence. Stigmatize professional bureaucrats and replace them with lealists and apologists.
9. The autocrat and politics. Almost all dimensions of life must politicize. Impartial institution combat. Every individual and institution must assume side, primary criterion for public and private self -identification.
10. The autocrat and economic power. Be sure to bring to the government.
11. The autocrat and the foreigner. In the name of sovereignty, it rejects supranational governance of international, sanitary and climate security. And accredit the global consortium against democracy.
12. The autocrat and imaginary enemies. Fabricates permanent moral panic and legitimate violence against the most vulnerable groups. Associate transgender, black, indigenous, social militants with crime.
In Greek mythology, King Euristeus imposed 12 missions on Hercules. Tasks such as killing Nemeia’s lion and stealing the Hipolite belt. It seemed impossible to political scientists of the time. Hercules went there and did.
