Who is your best friend? The pillar. "No! It's Our Lady! ”

“Today I remembered how painful I was to go to school in children on days like this”-another peculiar memory of Luísa Sobral.

Luís Sobral is not limited to creating songs that conquer thousands of people – or millions, as happened with the Love for bothwhich won the Eurovision Song Festival in 20217.

Singer, songwriter, singing. And also writer. Still a few days ago his first fiction book was published.

You don’t have to squeeze the book to read some “pearls” that Luisa is publishing. Its pages on social networks sometimes show very personal memories, with peculiar and written subjects in a very their own and captivating way.

The rainy morning this Thursday made the songwriter remember that I didn’t like to go to school. Never liked it. And on rainy days it was really “painful”.

No, he says he was never a good student like his friends, nor was sports good. It was good, of course, in music – which was a “hobby” and heard questions like “So, keep that music mania?”

But there was a moment at school I liked: “Good morning”. Translating: “We joined with other classes in the church to sing religious songsall of them very little interesting, but it was singing and outside the classroom, and that was enough. ”

Then something different, but usual in schools: the confession.

“We were in the long banks in front of the confessional, trying to rush to disenchant sins of 11-year-olds and recap the act of contrition,” recalls Luísa Sobral.

When it came to his turn, already inside that corner and kneeling, “Father had a hand in each of our cheeks and hit them as he spoke. Had won the nickname Priest hits plates as a consequence of this practice ”.

And then, a curious excerpt: “Who is your best friend?” I asked. “Um… the pillar”, “no! Our Lady! Pray two Avé Maria and two Our Father. ”

But despite these moments, the writer warns that going to school was not a phase of great suffering. Why I liked the friends.

And why… if I fell in love. In moments of passion, “the school turned into the perfect scenario for the exchange of looks, a paper under the table or an invitation to lunch. These days the hours began to run, rain or sun, and each interval was an opportunity for an advance in the relationship. ”
