One of the main reasons that the government and the committee of politicians decide to decide from the former president in an accident on Via Dutra in 1976 was a report by engineer and expert Sergio Ejzenberg.
Made at the request of the Federal Prosecutor, the report is part of a civil inquiry on the causes of the death of JK and the driver Geraldo Ribeiro. The resumption of the investigation into death was revealed by the Sheet.
Guided by Ejzenberg, 3D specialist designer Ricardo Dachtelberg recreated the accident at Dutra. The videos, incorporated by Ejzenberg into the technical report, are part of the civil inquiry records, made public in 2021.
The animations show the disaster from three perspectives: the opal, the bus and the trailer.
Unlike what previously completed previous expertise (and the National Truth Commission), Ejzenberg attests that there was no shock between a Comet bus and the Opal that led JK, which increases the mystery about the causes that led the president’s car to cross the car Dutra’s central flowerbed to collide with a truck that came in the opposite direction.
Other investigations also concluded that there was no beat between the Opal and the Bus, and that the car was misunderstood for some external action. This was the case of the state commissions of the Truth – spaced by a working group with researchers from the USP and Mackenzie – and and Da Universities.
For these groups, JK was actually the victim of a political attack. The findings gathered evidence that there may have been mechanical sabotage in the opal or even a driver’s shot or poisoning.
The civil inquiry conducted by the Federal Public Prosecution Service (MPF) for six years, from 2013 to 2019, concluded that it is “impossible to affirm or discard” the hypothesis of attack, since there are not enough material elements to point out the cause of the accident or explain the loss of car control “.
