The driver under the influence of alcohol on Thursday (February 13) in the evening in the village of Povina (district Kysucké Nové Mesto) escaped the police and subsequently caused an accident. TASR informed the Žilina regional police spokeswoman Daniela Kocková.
“Based on the investigation so far, it was found that the 45-year-old driver led a Mercedes passenger motor vehicle along the local road in the village of Povina. The driver was stopped by a patrol in a prescribed manner The District Department of the Police Corps Kysucké Nové Mesto, and did not respond to the stop and began to escape from the patrol. The driver of the leaking vehicle crashed into the concrete column of the power line. She added that a police officer and a driver of the leaking vehicle were injured in the accident, that required its transport to a medical facility. Immediately after the impact, the driver was checked by a police patrol. During the inspection, he underwent a breath test with a positive result of 1.60 per mille of alcohol in the exhaled air.
