The auction of Submerso Santos-Guarujá Tunnel will be scheduled for August 1, according to the investigation of the CNN. The publication of the concession notice is scheduled for February 27.
President Lula and Governor Paulista, Tarcísio de Freitas, met this week at a meeting intermediated by the Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho.
The details of the concession were closed and it was decided that the granting power of the work will be the São Paulo government. The announcement will be on behalf of Silvio Costa Filho, co -religionist of Tarcisio (Republicans) and member of the federal government.
The concession by the state government allowed to accelerate the bidding process. If the announcement was to Brasilia, with additional requirements with the Federal Court of Auditors (TCU)for example, its publication would be only for the second half.
The tunnel project is estimated at approximately R $ 6 billion, which will be funded by three fronts: the government of São Paulo, the Union and the private sector. The public contribution will be divided equally between the government of SP and the federal government.
The venture provides for the construction of a 1.5km long structure (870m submerged). There will be three direction lanes, with one for the passage of the light vehicle on rails (VLT).
The tunnel will also have access to crossing pedestrians and cyclists.
In addition to the tunnel, the project includes the granting of Porto de Santos Channelwith the objective of deepening the silence (the depth of the port) and ensuring the maintenance of the area.
Old claim in Baixada Santistathe tunnel should benefit at least 80,000 people daily. About 14 thousand cars and trucks of up to three axes make the journey between Santos and Guarujá daily.
On the road, the trip lasts approximately an hour. By ferry, it can take 18 minutes. With the tunnel, it can be done in less than two minutes.
