They are increasingly celebrated differently than in a traditional way. This day is associated with spending time with loved ones, and now it happens that we celebrate with friends. Changes in the perception of that day can be seen all over the world. In the US, 60% of people declare that they will spend this time celebrating platonic relationships. In Italy, in turn, 68% of respondents believe that every kind of love is just as important – regardless of whether we feel it towards family, friends or even animals. French have a similar opinion on this subject, who think that Valentine’s Day should spend with whom we want. Similar trends gradually reach Poland and can be an inspiration for many people. Relations take on a new meaning, but one thing does not change – a joint lunch or dinner is a good way to celebrate any type of bond.
Pasta love – how to show love
Usually, each dish recalls a memory. Some are associated with the family home, one with meetings with friends, and others – with a romantic dinner. Interestingly, pasta is one of 5 products that are most often associated with the show of love by another person – admits 20% of respondents. However, not only dishes that are already waiting for us cause joy – for 50% of people, preparing a meal for a loved one is a way to show love, and 51% recognizes that spending time together and cooking a meal together is also a celebration. In Poland, 28.4% of people prefer to celebrate Valentine’s Day at home and prepare a romantic dinner on their own.
However, we want to express love and other feelings every day, and not only from holidays. Cooking for someone is a great way to show concern – as many as 68% of people admits that they sense the love of another person manifested in small gestures, e.g. when he returns home and a favorite dish awaits there. The easiest way to heart is good food, and Barilla Love’s pasta in the shape of two connected hearts from the limited edition is perfect.
Pasta that expresses more than words
The brand celebrates love in a unique way – introduces a limited edition of Barilla Love’s pasta in the shape of two combined hearts, created especially for Valentine’s Day. Dishes from this extraordinary product is the perfect way to express feelings and an opportunity to spend time together at the table. Pasta is made of 100% durum wheat, thanks to which it retains its shape and structure.
To inspire everyone to tasty celebrating this romantic day, Marek Barilla has prepared four original recipes using pasta in the shape of two combined hearts. Each of the dishes has been composed to emphasize the nature of this special day and make them unique – regardless of who we spend them with. The proposals included a recipe for lime pasta with fennel and red shrimp. To prepare this dish for two people will be necessary:
- Barilla Love pasta in the shape of two connected hearts – 320 g
- Shallot – 1 piece
- Red shrimp – 8 pieces
- Italian dill – 350 g
- Limonka slices – 1 lime
- Water – 500 ml
- Extra Virgin olive oil – 50 ml
- Powdered saffron – 1 package
- Salt, pepper and thyme to taste
Heat olive oil in a pot, then add a chopped shallot and diced fennel. Fry the vegetables for 2-3 minutes, then pour water and simmer for about 20 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, add saffron, and then mix to get a thick cream.
Then clean the red shrimp from the shells. Place them on a baking tray, sprinkle with lime peel. Season with salt, pepper, thyme and a little olive oil from Extra Virgin. Bake at 100 ° C for 7-8 minutes.
Cook the pasta in salted, boiling water – until Al dente is. Leave a little water from cooking and dilute it with fennel cream. Place the pasta on a plate, pour the sauce and add red shrimp. Sprinkle with diced lime peel.
