A survey released on Friday (14) shows that the approval of the president (PT) collapsed in the last two months, and that the largest drop has occurred among his own voters.

The decline was 20 percentage points among those who voted for him in the last elections, against 11 points on the overall average. If, in mid -December, dating from the last survey, 66% of this group classified their work as great or good, now the percentage is 46%.

Most of these people migrated to the regular (which jumped from 27% to 40%). The portion of those who responded badly or bad, but also almost doubled (7% to 13%). In this group, the error margin of the results is four points, up or down.

Lula’s popularity fell in all segments, making the president reach an unprecedented level of disapproval in his three passages through the Planalto Palace. She was pulled, however, mainly by groups linked to the petista, with great electoral importance for the size.

This is the case of women, blacks, northeastern, poorer and less educated.

Among them, the portion that approves the government eroded 14 percentage points, from 38% to 24% and equaling the level of dissatisfaction of men, where the fall was 9 points. They represent just over half of the sample and have an error margin of three points.

Blacks and browns also recorded declines of 15 and 13 points in approval, respectively, compared to 9 among whites, variations that exceed the margins of error for each group. Added, the first two groups correspond to 61% of the research universe.

Lula’s drop in popularity was even more significant in the Northeast (16 points) and in the Southeast (11 points), which add up to 69% of respondents, than in the Midwest (9 points) and in the south (5 points). Northeastern, however, are the only ones that maintain positive evaluation (33%) above negative (30%).

The same is true among those who have completed only elementary school, among which 38% still approve the government and 28% disapprove. Here, however, the fall was also significant: in December, the portion of those who were satisfied was much higher, 53%.

The least educated are one third of the population and have a margin of error of four points.

In terms of income, the largest drop was also among the poorest, who earn up to two minimum wages per family (R $ 3,036). They correspond to 51% of the sample and 60% of Lula’s voters and had a level of approval of 44% of the president’s work in December, but now they went to 29%.

The richest, in turn, who earn over ten salaries (R $ 15,181), are by far the most dissatisfied and went from 32% to 18% approval. In this case, however, the variation is within the highest margin of error of 12 percentage points.

Lula also registered the largest falls in his approval among Catholics (from 14 points, compared to 5 of the evangelicals) and among voters over 45 years (15 points, against 6 of young people between 16 and 24 years).
