Despite performing as a coach and former athlete on social networks, Edson Manu has shown that he can still yield more on the pitch.
The former coach of Pombal Esporte Clube, from Paraíba, left command to return as a professional player of the club.
He was on the field in a 1-1 draw with Auto Esporte in the Paraibano Championship game for the eighth round on Thursday (13) in Paraíba.
The goal was difficult. Manu returned to the cast with the mission of avoiding the club’s relegation to the state’s second division. The striker even scored a goal, but was annulled by ensuring the draw.
At the beginning of the season, Manu trained Pombal for three matches. However, he ended up delivering the position and, a day later, ended the three -year retirement to play as a club player. That is, he only exchanged office.
With the result, Pombal was in the 6th place of the championship and has no risk of relegation, but no longer has the possibility of being among the first four positions that guarantee the advance to the semifinals.
