Next Sunday, February 16, the village of Salir, in the municipality of Loulé, receives the traditional party in honor of St. Luís and S. Sebastião. This annual event brings together the community for moments of religious celebration and popular conviviality. In addition to the usual processions, there will be a lot of roasted choriza, bread, and home wine.

The party has a strong religious character, with ceremonies that evoke devotion to the patron saints. However, the gastronomic component also stands out, with the presence of traditional delicacies, such as chunisters, wine and homemade bread.

According to the festivities start at 14h00 with the procession, one of the most anticipated moments, where the faithful travel the streets of the locality in honor of S. Luís and S. Sebastião. Soon after, the Eucharist takes place, reinforcing the spirit of faith and devotion.

One of the most symbolic moments of the event takes place at 3:30 pm, with the blessing of animals. This tradition brings together inhabitants and visitors, who bring their animals to be blessed, asking for protection and health to them.

From 3:45 pm, Tasquinhas open to the public, offering to the present the opportunity to taste typical flavors of the region. Among the gastronomic highlights is roasted choriza, much appreciated by visitors.

The musical animation begins at 16h00, ensuring a festive environment throughout the afternoon. This year, the performance will be in charge of the band Déja Vu, which promises to cheer the participants with a varied and dynamic repertoire.

In addition to the religious and gastronomic nature, the party represents an opportunity to meet generations, reinforcing the feeling of community and preserving ancestral traditions.

The organization of the event is in charge of the Parish of S. Sebastião de Salir, with the support of the Local Parish Council and the Loulé City Council. The involvement of local entities demonstrates the commitment in valuing traditions and cultural heritage in the region.
