Lula visits space where COP30 will be held in Belém

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) checked, on the morning of Friday (14), the works of Parque da Cidade, a space that will host, in November this year, the program of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change ( COP30) in the capital of Pará.

The work, of over 500 thousand square meters, already has almost 75% of the space completed.

Accompanied by the governor of Pará, Helder Barbalho (MDB), and other authorities, Lula watched a 40 -year -old bullshit, which is planted on site and is known as a symbol of strength from the Amazon.

The space is one of the largest urban investments for the. The area will behave the Green Zone, where heads of state should discuss climate issues.

Lula will also publicize other investments, in a ceremony held at the São Brás market.

The program provides for the announcement of the financing, to the government of Pará, of R $ 250 million, via BNDES, for macrodrainage and urbanization projects in the capital of Para.

According to the government, it is the largest investment in integrated urbanization of slums and peripheries already supported by the bank.

In addition, at the ceremony, the BNDES and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MMA) will sign the hiring of non-reprehensible financial support of R $ 45 million, from the Amazon Fund to the State of Pará, to strengthen the structure of the body of Pará military firefighters and the actions of the corporation in preventing and combating forest fires and unauthorized burning.

Another contract signed by BNDES will be with the Institute of Forest Development and Biodiversity of the State of Pará (Ideflor-Bio).

By the document, the bank will provide technical services for support, evaluation, structuring and implementation of forest concession projects. President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Governor Helder Barbalho participate in the ceremony.
