If there is a party that bears the government claim in your DNA, it is the ÖVP. Apart from a short interruption, the People’s Party has been represented in the federal government since 1987 – and even after the National Council election in 2024, it seemed as if there was no way past the blacks. But now two completely different coalition plans have failed. The only common denominator: the ÖVP.
