This is the “most dangerous in the world”, is close to the Algarve and access costs 10 €

Those who have a habit of going to the Algarve to spend a few days of vacation end up almost always to visit the neighboring country, as it is right next door. The most common is tourists to take the opportunity to know Seville, but there is another city also not far from the border where is the one that is considered the “most dangerous in the world.”

It is 60 kilometers from Malaga that is the Caminito Del Rey, also known as the “most dangerous path in the world.” Located about three hours and thirty minutes by car since Vila Real de Santo António, Algarve, Caminito Del Rey is about to celebrate 120 years and, to celebrate, the pedestrian route will be expanded.

The project includes building a 110 -meter -long suspended pedestrian bridge that will provide an alternative path to the current one, and the structure will be the “longest of the genre in Spain”, according to the president of Diputación Provincial of Malaga, Francisco Salado, quoted by El País.

It is also known that the point where the bridge is highest will be 50 meters high. In addition, it will be built with almost 1.5 kilometers of braided wire wire cables and wood. The work will even have the help of several helicopters, such is the complexity of it. According to the, it is expected that the new bridge will be completed in mid-November this year.

It should be noted that Caminito Del Rey was built between 1901 and 1905 to give access to the workers of the region’s hydroelectric plants. The main highlight of this rail is even the dizzying passage excavated to the wall of the Gaitaes gorge, which is about 100 meters high.

Access to Caminito Del Rey costs 10 €

At this time, Caminito Del Rey is one of Spain’s most famous sights and, since 2015, nearly three million tourists have traveled the way. Francisco Salad also advanced that all tourists who have visited the track over the last 10 years have allowed about 400 million euros of economic impact on neighboring municipalities, which quadrupled the number of accommodation units.

Even with the bridge under construction, be aware that you can continue to visit Caminito Del Rey and the access ticket to it has the cost of 10 euros. Note that the 7.7 kilometers long rail can only be traveled by walkers over eight years old.
