Trump’s resignation program has 75,000 adhesions, below the goal

Total equals 3% of federal employees, less than the projection of 5% to 10% of the White House

About 75,000 federal servants joined the voluntary dismissal program promoted by the government of US President Donald Trump (Republican Party), in partnership with Elon Musk, responsible for the so -called Government Efficiency Department (Doge).

The number was below the White House initial goal, which expected between 5% and 10% adhesions among federal civil servants. The information is from the site Bloomberg.

The program, known as “buyout”allows servers to leave their positions in February, but continue on the payroll by the end of September.

Although the number of adhesions was below expectations, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the government is pleased with the result.

“I am not sure that we have not reached our goal – 75 thousand people accepted the program. This will generate millions of dollars for taxpayers, which was our main objective ”he declared.

Trump’s Cut Plan

On Tuesday (11.FEV), Trump signed a decree determining that public agencies begin preparations for large -scale cuts. Exceptions are foreseen for sectors such as public safety, immigration inspection and law application.

The program became known as “Fork in the Road” (bifurcation). The US currently employs about 2.3 million people in federal administration positions.
