The law on euthanasia, which was decided by the Tuscan regional parliament on Tuesday, went back to a popular initiative: the Associazione Luca Coscioni, an association that has been committed to legalizing euthanasia in Italy for over twenty years collected for the concern. The association’s namesake, Luca Coscioni, was a politician of the radical party; Was ill from the degenerative disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, from which he died in 2006. It is the first time that in Catholic Italy a region issues a law to this ethically controversial question.
