Jakub in the series portrays the Jewish boy David. For its origin, the regime takes the right to study and later suppresses other fundamental human rights. David is opposed to this and fights for justice not only for himself but for everyone. Studenková plays a distinctive character in the series – Uncompromising Edita Kučerováwife of the owner of the department store Rudolf Kučera (Emil Horváth).
