Paraná Survey Research shows that Senator Eliziane Gama would be out of the upper house if elections were today
Paraná survey research released on Saturday (15.FEV.2025) indicates that the current governor of Maranhão, (PSB), and the senator (PDT-MA) lead the state dispute for two vacancies in the upper house in the 2026 elections.
In the stimulated scenario, Brandão has 43.2% of voting intentions, and Weverton, 41.1%. With this, the Senator (PSD-MA) would be left out. Read below the Senate dispute data:
- Carlos Brandão (PSB) – 43,2%;
- Weverton Rocha (PDT) – 41,1%;
- Eliziane Gama (PSD) – 18,5%
- Pedro Lucas (Brazil Union) – 12.8%;
- André Fufuca (PP) – 12,1%
- Dr. Hilton Gonçalo – 5,4%;
- None/white/null – 12,3;
- Don’t know/didn’t answer – 5,6%.
In 2026, two thirds of the Senate chairs will be in the dispute. 54 senators will be elected, 2 per state and 2 by the Federal District. The others and continue with mandate until 2030.
The survey interviewed 1,548 voters in 62 municipalities of Maranhão. The degree of confidence of the survey is 95%. The error margin is 2.5 percentage points, more or less. Read A (PDF – 420 KB).
Dispute for the government of Maranhão
Paraná Research also tested a stimulated scenario for the state command. In the first round in 2022, Brandão will not be able to compete in 2026. Who leads is the mayor of São Luís, (PSD), followed by (PSC).
