“The world is eager to have a business relationship with,” says Foreign Minister of Foreign
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot argued that India and Latin America are commercial alternatives to the US, given US protectionism.
“The world is eager to have a business relationship with us [europeus]. For example, India and Latin America – regions with which we must build a relationship [comercial] Bigger, ”Barrot said at the Munich Security Conference.
The ruler assured that the European Union (EU) has “deterrent” instruments, but also “direct response” to the tariffs announced by US President Donald Trump.
On the other hand, he stressed that, in Trump’s previous term, the trade war with China was a fiasco for US interests.
The minister also said that the US “have never been as large as when they participated in the international order” and added that the EU should be completely independent of this country in matters of defense.
