Pope Francis had a decrease in fever and spent a “quiet night” at Gemelli Hospital in Rome, where he is being treated from a respiratory tract infection amid an episode of bronchitis, said Vatican sources on Saturday (15), said on Saturday (15) to the Italian news agency Ansa.
The 88-year-old Argentine pontiff was hospitalized on Friday, 14, with a scheduled diagnostic examinations and continuing the treatment against bronchitis, the Vatican said.

According to the agency, Pope Francis arrived at Gemelli on Friday without much breath due to the breathing difficulty linked to an excess of mucus, and a “home” treatment for bronchitis had not given the expected results.
As Vatican sources said to ANSA, there is optimism about new therapy, which began on Friday, after the doctors found that the Argentine pontiff is suffering from a respiratory tract infection.
