White socks are an integral part of many styles. Unfortunately, they have one quite serious minus – they are extremely difficult to keep them clean. Even the slightest dirt is visible on them very quickly, and then it’s hard to wash them. Therefore, many of us wonder. Of course, you can use strong detergents and bleaches, but the use of ecological products that have excellent whitening properties of light fabrics is definitely safer for the material. Among them is baking soda. In a situation where the dirt is so persistent on white socks that they cannot be removed during standard washing in the washing machine, it is worth using this effective and very cheap trick with soaking. All you have to do is stock up on a packet of baking soda, which costs about PLN 3. Pour a pack of soda into a bowl with warm water and soak white socks in it. After about 30 minutes, drain them from the water and plug in the washing machine as usual. Baking soda perfectly removes any dirt from socks and will affect them like a bleach.
How to wash socks in the washing machine to whiten them?
It should be remembered that at a temperature of at least 60 degrees Celsius and a program designed for cotton items. This guarantees that they will really be clean. Instead of a stain remover, socks can also be soaked in water with the addition of citric acid. This home way to wash white socks is cheap and effective, because acid works like bleach for clothes. As a result, the socks will be snow -white.
