Slovak Television will be broadcast on Sunday 16 February at 20.10 h on Two of the seventh episode of the unique documentary cycle of the lyricistwhich reveals creative processes and life stories of the most important lyricists of the Slovak music scene.
In the seventh episode, viewers can see The story of Daniel Hevier, one of the most prominent lyricists of Slovak popular musicthat they know for generations. The nursery schools wear his playful poems in their heads, schoolchildren read his fairy tales, teenagers sometimes blink the eyes on his poems, and the flocks of fans faint in the words of songs with me you can always count or dream until you can dream.
Many adults try to have one coat, one skin, one face. Texts such as North, Love, do not travel by train or advertising for silence are just a fraction of his rich lyrics. Although the name Hevier is not on the posters of concerts, without his lyrics, Slovak popular music would not sound as we know it.
In the documentary Textworks, viewers will see interesting archive shots and authentic interviews with musicians who worked with Daniel Hevier. Pavol Habera, Dušan Antalík, Julo Kinček, or Miro Tásler will tell how much Hevier had a huge influence on the formation of the Slovak music scene.
The song demanding from the team almost did not pass through the approval committee! Hevier did not want to criticize the time, but he perceived the reality in which he lived and created. “Certainly there was something that young people could identify with, the old people could irritate or outrage, but I don’t do it as a criticism of some establishment,” he stated in the document Hevier.
