The monthly value of social insertion (RSI) income was increased by almost five euros, settling at 242.23 euros from January 2025. DIARY OF THE REPUBLICestablishes that the new amount will have retroactive effects since the beginning of the year.
New update and impact on the index of social support
According to the ordinance, the RSI increased 4.98 euros, corresponding to 46.36% of the Social Support Index (IAS), whose current value is 522.50 euros. The measure comes into force on Saturday and ensures the update of payments from January 2025.
Family aggregate values
The maximum value of the RSI, which is based on the composition of the household, is now distributed as follows:
- 242,23 euros (100%) for the support holder;
- 169,56 euros (70%) for each additional adult;
- 121,12 euros (50%) for each child or young people under 18 years.
Objective and scope of the RSI
The social income of insertion is a monthly social benefit for people in extreme poverty, ensuring financial support and a social and professional insertion program.
This program, as described by the Social Security Institute, includes a contract with a view to the progressive social, labor and community insertion of the beneficiaries.
The update of value follows the evolution of and aims to improve the living conditions of citizens in greater vulnerable situation, ensuring financial support adjusted to the cost of living.
