In the podcast “The animal that laughs”, the doctor and humorist Carlos Vidal invites the musician António Zambujo. Retain about laughter and music, as part of the culture of a country
They approach Fado, the Alentejo Sing, Stand-Up Comedy, and how the voice is praised between sadness and solitude. They talk about the surprise effect as an imposition of emotion, the importance of imperfection and the word. They explore the roots, the importance of grandparents and how many times musicians can be the best humorists. In an increasingly stupid world, will humor be a way to get up against stupidity?
Humorist, physician and musician, all shuffled and without a specific order, Carlos Vidal is a specialist in General and Family Medicine, postgraduate in Sports Medicine from FMUP, and has as the master thesis the “therapeutic benefits of humor”. He organized the “I Health Days: Medicine and Humor”, combining the two arts and treating them the way they should always be viewed: seriously.
It has been invited to various lectures, addressing humor and medicine topics, such as TEDX Youth Aveiro or lectures at the University of Coimbra. It gave a face to several campaigns, including that of the NHS, and organized Risorius-Humor and Art Festival of Albergaria-a-Velha, which had 8 editions.
In this new weekly podcast, Carlos Vidal will think of humor through the stories that each guest brings. The idea is to speak, think, deepen, study and debate laughter and, if all goes well … not come to any conclusion.
