A 23 -year -old Syros has been arrested and held in the south, after the bloody incident that occurred on Saturday afternoon, in which a 14 -year -old boy died and four other people were injured, two seriously as they accepted.
“A man accidentally attacked passers -by with a knife,” police spokesman Rainer Dionisio told AFP for the incident in the city of Vilah. “A victim, a 14 -year -old boy, lost his life.”

The attack took place near the central square of the city, about 350 kilometers south of Vienna.
The largest of the injured is 32 years old. According to eyewitnesses cited by the Austrian newspaper Kurier, the perpetrator suddenly got off a car and attacked his knife against passers -by. A 42 -year -old, also a Syros, a courier worker, was in front of the attack and, in order to prevent the perpetrator, hit him in his car. The 23 -year -old was arrested shortly afterwards and, according to first reports, was a residence permit and had not been employed by the authorities so far.
“In the 20 years of service, I have never seen this before. This is an unprecedented crime for the Karinthia region, “said a police spokesman, who also said that the perpetrator appears in videos of his arrest laughing.
The State Protection Office and the fight against extremism undertook the investigation along with the State Police State Bureau.
