The Natural Disasters Monitoring and Alerts Center (), linked to, will launch on Monday (17) a new system of prediction of disasters related to landslides, the Georisk.
The launching event will take place at the headquarters of Cemaden, in São José dos Campos (SP), with the presence of the Minister of Folder, Luciana Santos, as well as the holders of regional integration, Waldez Góes, and the cities, Jader Filho.
The new system increases the ability to generate predictions from 24 hours to 72 hours in advance.
Predictions increased by 13% the rate of detection of landslides and at 15% the risk analysis rate compared to traditional methods.
Georisk uses data from different weather models, environmental and historical disaster information.
Since the beginning of the tests, the system has been able to detect 90% of the main disasters associated with landslides.
