In the high altitudes of the Slovak mountains, the small avalanche danger corresponding to the first stage of the five -part international scale also lasts on Sunday. This was reported by the avalanche prevention center of the Mountain Rescue Service (HZS).
“The situation is stable, the older snow cover is sitting and reinforced. The loosening of the avalanche is only possible exceptionally in positions above the forest zone on very steep slopes, on which a new experienced snow is stored. It creates snow plates and pillows locally, “the resort informs.
The new snow has not significantly changed the snow conditions or the avalanche situation. The snow cover is significantly below average for this time of year. Continuous snow cover is only in the highest altitudes of the mountains. In the valleys there are sidewalks and roads often formed by ice covered with newer snow.
